Tempeh, The Authentic Way | Tempeh History

Greek Tempeh Gyros

Serves 2-3

Takes 150 mins

    • Greek marinade
    • 1 pack Plant Power Tempeh (cut into thin strips)
    • 2 tsp paprika
    • 2 tsp ground coriander
    • 2 tsp oregano
    • 1 garlic crushed
    • Olive oil
    • Salt

    • Quick tzatziki
    • 1/3 - 1/2 cup Plain yoghurt
    • 4 gherkins
    • 10cm cucumber

  • Tomatoes
  • Red onion sliced
  • Soft flatbreads

  1. In a bowl add the marinade ingredients along with enough olive
  2. oil to make a paste
  3. Add the tempeh and coat with the marinade. Leave to marinate for at least 15 minutes
  4. Heat a little olive oil in a pan over a medium heat and add the tempeh strips
  5. Cook until golden on each side
  6. While this is cooking, add the yoghurt, chopped gherkins and chopped cucumber and mix together
  7. Take one flatbread and spread over a little over the tzatziki and then the tempeh, some chopped tomatoes, red onion and finish off with some spring onions
